Injury Scare for Knezevic Promotes Speculation
The season is still chugging along nicely for the Victoria Falls Eagles, as the team has established itself as the strongest squad in the SSL Academy for now, but the season hasn't been without its challenges. One such challenge just came for young Defensive Midfielder Ivica Knezevic, who had to leave one of the teams recent games early on due to injury. With the team not putting out much information on it afterwards, the door was opened for all kinds of speculation about a more serious injury that might put Knezevic out of action longer term.
The young Croatian had a visible limp when he was helped off the field and missed the next few practices without any official word on his status being relayed to the public. The rumors were in full swing following the communication strategy chose by the team, with all kinds of baseless speculation filling the void left by the lack of an official statement by player or team. As quickly as the situation evolved, it deflated again however, when Knezevic was back in team practice on day three after his injury and back in the starting line-up in the following match two days later, playing the full 90 minutes and putting to rest all rumors about a more serious injury.
