We have reached the midpoint of the season for the academy teams and after 9 games played, Stockholm Idrottsklubb is firmly in 3rd place of the academy league table. They are far behind the leading duo of Atletico Medellin and Victoria Falls Eagles, both teams whom they have yet to beat this season. However, this looks to be only a matter of time with how SIK have been playing as of late. Some of the players, notably Del Pirlo, & Beerman have been highlights of the next generation of European SSL stars in the making.
Del Pirlo has notably elevated his game as of late, playing more like the shadow striker he was advertised as when he first joined the SSL academy. His ability to either feed his teammates or go for the goal have made him more and more unpredictable every game. He will have to improve his passing and dribbling skills further in the coming weeks.
Beerman has been playing a solid game behind Del Pirlo, often connecting with either him, Delo or Dallas as well as helping out defensively. A well-rounded player, their passing has significantly improved and they continue to work on refining their vision of the game, almost acting as a libero in the midfield.
