At the start of the season the plan was for the Cup Final to be played in one game, as is the norm for these kinds of tournaments. We quickly found two issues with this plan, (1) the Cup as it was created in the game, had planned for two legs for the final, and (2) the schedule showed that the two legs were to be played on the 6th and 7th of May (in-game date) while the last league game was scheduled for the 11th of May. That meant that both legs would be played before the league concluded and we were forced to change our Matchday Schedule to that fact.

At the time of recording the two games yesterday, the simmer realized that the two legs of the Cup Final actually were not scheduled before Matchday 10, but rather one before and one after. It is uncertain as to why FM did not, and still will not, update the Cup schedule accordingly, but this was the situation at hand. In order to play both legs we had to play through Matchday 10 and then come back and do the proper recording of those games again for the final game of the season this Tuesday.

After some discussion, the BoD decided that the logistics and the statistical nightmare this would entail was something that we wanted to prevent. On top of that the two teams in the Cup Final would not be able to change tactics between the two legs with the original plan. This all led to the following decision:

The SSL Cup Final will be played in only one game airing tonight at 10 PM EST.

The file will then be saved and completed after the MD10 games on Tuesday.
