Enjoying the Offseason
#1
Coming off another division 1 title, Reykjavik had a long season. Going to the Cup finals against Inter London – and unfortunately losing – was just another way that season had more games than almost everybody else. It was great to have an offseason when we could relax and just enjoy the time with family and friends.

Roberto Scarpetta, like he typically does, decided to spend the off time back in Italy, enjoying home cooked meals, time with his brother and just an overall relaxing time. Sipping on coffees, enjoying the great weather and taking in all the lovely scenery that Italy has to offer. He does train a little, but for the most part he feels that the off time should really be spent unwinding, especially as a center back where he is constantly under pressure from opposition. Letting his body recover and heal is an important part of the process, and there’s no better place than Italy to do so.

He knows next season will be another grueling one as Reykjavik are still a top team and could contend for Division 1 and Cup titles. He started the preseason strong, scoring 2 goals against Catalunya off of 2 headers from corners in a 5-0 victory. While a lot of players train, it seems like time off has worked, and I’m sure Reykjavik are impressed with his performance.
