The Decision 2024: To stay or to go
#1
Recently, due to the influx of talent joining the SSL, a decision from our fearless leader @Canadice was to see if people currently in the Academy would be willing to temporarily move up to the minors to allow for everyone to have a spot for playing time. Many people said that they'd be willing to move from the Academy team to a minors team until draft day. I was one of the 7 people that voted to stay down in the Acadamy for this season. I won't pretend I spent hours and hours agonizing over the decision, but it was 2 simple reasons as to why I wanted to keep playing with Sydney City for the remainder of S17;

1. Being a lower TPE goalkeeper, I'm sure I'd get rocked pretty bad most games. And I don't want to turn into @lock180 and start blaming all my new teammates to become a grumpy newbie. My player is actually doing better than I anticipated so far and it's been fun.

2. Sydney City has a few dedicated teammates that are having fun with this and it's making it even more fun for myself. I do know a few of them also decided to stay at Sydney and so it made the decision even easier to stay down. While it would be fun to get to move up for a bit to meet other users in this league, I always appreciated my draft class in the ISFL and so it's fun to make that bond with my SSL draft class.

So there you have it, 2 simple reasons as to why I decided to keep Benecio Aguilera III in the Academy for S17.
