League and Cup Champions

After another thrilling season we are once more heading into the off-season with three different champions! In the Major Leagues, Schwarzwälder FV clinched the trophy in the final matchday while North Shore United had secured the win in the Minor Leagues with a few matchdays to spare. With the most SSL Cup Final appearances under their belt, Reykjavik United finally managed to win their first cup as RKV in their 7th consecutive (8th total) visit to the final. Congratulations to all!

Off-Season

This upcoming Monday (January 13th) marks the start of the off-season and as usual some pieces of information to note.

Pending FA period
Any player that is on an expiring contract (no contract signed for S19) is considered a pending free agent at the start of the off-season. Organizations may at that time contact a pending FA and negotiate a contract. The player is not a free agent until the start of the next season thus they may still sign an extension with their current team during the week without reducing the team's transfer budget. We just make to make one thing clear: A manager may not force a player to provide intent to sign. This week is intended for players to be able to talk to teams and be shown alternatives for how their future may look.

Re-rolls and redistribution
S17 players have one last chance this week to submit a re-roll or redistribution for their player via the portal.

SSL Prospect Draft and Next Draft Class
We are also gearing up for the SSL Prospect that is set to take place on January 19th at TBA!

World Simulation Football Classic

This season will see a two-week extension to the off-season where the World Simulation Football Classic will take place. Final rosters are to be submitted tomorrow and if you haven't already, you will probably see your region announce their selected 14 players in the week to come.

Due to the changes with the portal and the WSFC, the new draft class will officially start up on February 3rd with the start of the new season. Any players creating during the week of January 13th to February 2nd will not be pending approval until the start of the season.

Regression and Portal
Regression will be run on the week of January 28th and the resulting TPE will be directly removed from each affected player's TPE total. A regression post will be published on the forum which will also indicate players that are automatically retired. The additional two weeks of WSFC will add on two weeks of capped TPE towards the regression, but any WSFC Point Tasks will not be part of the regression.

The deadline for regressing your player in the portal is February 7th.
