It has been an interesting start for Pablo Kawasaki on the Stockholm Academy squad! With an unprecedented size of squads it seems for this upcoming season, the question of if there will be space for a goalkeeper on upcoming squads was a worry. However with the announcement of the expansion squads, this is perfect news for the upstart keeper who is looking for a place to land after this academy season.
After 3 games on a very strong squad, Pablo is feeling good, but also not so much tested yet. With just a single goal against in the 3 games played, he is fully crediting his amazing defence in front of him led by Schumacher, but also realizes he hasn’t yet had the chance to show off to the league GMs his full capabilities yet. With his high rating in communication and teamwork however, he hops the scouts can see that he has done a great job putting his team in the right position to play in front of him.
It has been a strange world though since leaving Croatia for the cold of Stockholm. The people are very great, but the weather with all of the cold has definitely been a learning experience. He currently feels like one of the Jamaican sledders going to Calgary in the movie Cool Runnings. It however is just the early stages of the season, and knows he has to stay in tip top shape, to lead his team to the top of the Academy table. We will check in with Pablo’s journey soon in the upcoming weeks ahead.
