GRADED: Mitidiero Arrives in New Zealand
#1
Being drafted by North Shore United was an unforgettable moment for Santiago Mitidiero. When he heard his name called on the SSL Draft broadcast, emotions overflowed, and Santiago understood that his dream of becoming a professional player was one step closer.

“It was a mix of surprise and happiness. I didn't expect to be selected by a team like North Shore. I know it's part of the Reykjavik United project, and that makes it even more special,” he said excitedly in a post-draft interview.

A few days later, Santiago flew to New Zealand to join the club. It was his first trip outside of South America, and the cultural and climate change was dramatic. However, from the very beginning, both the staff and his new teammates made him feel welcome.

In his first few days, Santiago took the opportunity to get to know the city, tour the club's surroundings, and begin to adapt to this new life. Despite the jet lag, he seemed enthusiastic and eager to train. "I know I haven't played a single minute yet, but I feel like this is where I belong. I came here to learn, to grow, and to show that I can contribute to the team," he stated in a subsequent interview with Gastón Edul.
