GRADED: Mitidero talks about his Minor League debut.
#1
Journalist: We're here with Santiago Mitidiero after his SSL Minor League debut with North Shore. It was a very exciting match for Santiago. They started 2-0 up and ended up losing 4-3 to Seoul MFC. How do you analyze what happened on the field today?

Santiago: It's a tough blow, really. We started off very well, scoring two quick goals and controlling the game. But in the second half, our bad luck fell apart. They started to play more directly, and we sat back too far. It's a shame because it was my debut, and I wanted to take all three points.

Journalist: Today you faced two of your former Atlético Medellín teammates, Barr and De Girón. How did you feel seeing them on the other side of the field just a week after playing together?

Santiago: It was a rather unusual situation. Just a few days ago we were sharing a locker room, and today we found ourselves as rivals. Football is like that. I have a good relationship with both of them, but on the field, everyone defends their own jersey, and friendships end for 90 minutes.

Journalist: One of Seoul's goals was scored by Barr, who was your midfield teammate at Atlético Medellín. How did you feel when you saw him score against your team?

Santiago: I'll be honest, it was a difficult moment. Barr knows my moves, and I know his, but today he knew how to take advantage of them better. When he scored, I felt a mixture of anger and respect. Anger for not being able to prevent it, knowing his game, and respect because he's a great professional, but it still hurts to have a former teammate score against you.

Journalist: Despite the result, today was your official league debut. How did you feel about this first game in a North Shore jersey?

Santiago: On a personal level, I'm happy about this debut. It's something I've been looking for for a while. I've dreamed of playing professionally since I was a kid, and today it happened. But I'm very self-critical, and I know we could have done better as a team. In football, what matters is winning, and today wasn't our chance.

Journalist: What did the coach tell you after the match?

Santiago: He told us to keep our heads up, that this is just the beginning. That we had a good first half, but that we have to stay focused for the entire 90 minutes. In this league, anyone can beat you if you let your guard down. We're hurt, but we're already thinking about the next match; there's no other option.

Journalist: Finally, Santiago, what goals do you have for this season with North Shore?

Santiago: First, the team: helping North Shore achieve good results. We have a great group and we want to compete at the highest level. Of course, all of us in the Minor League work with the hope of one day making the jump to Reykjavik United in the Major League, but that comes as a result of daily work. My focus is on improving every day, contributing to the team, and if things go well and the coaching staff agrees, perhaps the opportunity will arise. But right now, I'm focused on adapting and giving my best for North Shore, who put their faith in me.

Journalist: Thank you very much, Santiago, and good luck for the next game.

Santiago: Thank you, and best regards to everyone watching.
