ATHENS (AP) -- The famed Athenai F.C. central defender, Austrian native Valentin Morgenstern, has recently been finding himself more often on the pitch, training both by himself and with teammates. Morgenstern had announced he was taking a brief break from media and press related matters a few weeks ago, and unfortunately it seemed as if that had also translated to his play on the pitch as well. In the latter half of the season, after his announcement, he did not contribute too much to Athenai's game which most likely contributed to the team's finishing in the bottom two positions in the league standings.
It seems that Morgenstern has lit up with a new desire for the game of football, as he has been spotted by multiple Athenai faithful travelling to and from the team's stadium and practice facilities on his own accord, which indicates that he is looking to continue stepping up his game and assisting his Athens club in finally making a mark on the league.
Will we see the Austrian return to make a mark on the league? Will he finally be able to take down long-time rival Aart de Trella? Well, based on Athens' current record at 0-1-1, we may have to wait and see for longer than any of us would like...
