Matchday Recap
// Krung Thep FC vs. Rapid Magyar SC //

-- MD11 --

In a battle of newly anointed football clubs, Krung Thep FC took on Rapid Magyar SC in the 11th matchday of the 20th season of SSL. Krung Thep is attempting to crack the top echelon of the minor league standings while Magyar SC is firmly planted in last place in the league. Krung Thep is entering this game with a goal differential of -4 while Magyar sits at a -33 goal differential.

Krung Thep start off the scoring early, with an 8th minute tally. Roger Roger accelerates up the left side of the field and puts a beautiful cross into the wheelhouse of a closing Dom Patterson at the top of the box. No chance for the Magyar goalie and unimpressive defense by the Magyar defensemen. It seemed like Krung Thep had their way with Magyar early.

An insane cross by Adam Knight into the box in the 21st minute allowed superstar Tonto Tut to head in the ball while watching it through the back of his head. Knight received the ball back from his teammate off a throw in, then sent a beautiful arc to the far post area. Tut jumped up and headed the ball while facing the opposite way with a defender all over him! Talk about skill!

Magyar would answer, though, in the 29th minute to ensure the game did not get away from them too early. Sam Albinson attacked the zone and sent a cross over to Jared Scott who buried the chance on a pounding shot to the back of the net. There were a lot of Magyar players in the goalie box and put on a good showing in this attack.

A very messy goal in the 34th minute put Krung Thep back up by 2 goals. After a cross by Elliott, the ball ended up hitting four players before it came right to Mamba who took an immaculate leaping kick to bury it. The two goal lead was only gone for a few minutes.

Albinson would not be denied as he again closed the large gap for Magyar in the 37th minute! The fourth goal in 16 minutes saw Albinson in on the Krung Thep goaltender on a semi breakaway. Krung Thep defenders were caught sleeping my the skilled midfielder.

The pace of this game would not slow - a 51st minute goal by Dom Patterson again would once again restore the club's two goal lead. It was a bot of an odd goal and the cross came through to Patterson, who then only tapped it slightly to send it on a course behind the goalkeeper.

Krung Thep decided that was enough craziness for one day - no more goals followed in the final (nearly) half of the match. The final score was 4-2 in favor of Krung Thep, and they helped in the climb up the table while Magyar took the loss in stride with a "meh, oh well." It was an exciting match all together and a great result for the Krung Thep club.
