Season 21 Academy Spotlight!
#1
Hi everyone! I thought of a little bit of a different series that I could do where I highlight some stand out people in Academy. I hope people enjoy this, always open to feedback!

We are going to be looking at Matchdays 1-3 for who stuck out to me!

Spotlights:
Ryan O'Neill - Accra
Ryan O'Neill has been absolutely superb for Accra so far 3 games into the campaign. In the 3 games,  O'Neill has taken home 2 Player of the Match trophies. O'Neill has 3 goals which is tied for second in all of Academy while also assisting on 3 goals, so out of the 8 goals that Accra has scored, O'Neill has contributed to 6 of them. When we look at Average Rating during the 3 match days, O'Neill has a 8.6 which is only 2nd behind Ozzy Trent Kovács. O'Neill has been a standout player in Academy so far.

Aimo Silakka - İstanbul F.K.
Silakka has stuck out in the midfield for Istanbul, being a huge part of what the team looks to do.  Silakka has 12 tackles won out of the 13 that they have attempted which ranks first in the entire Academy with Tackles won.  Silakka also has 10 dribbles which is only 3 behind the leader in the entire Academy. So, everything in the midfield revolves around this guy.  Silakka also has 11 interceptions which is tied for the lead of actual players. That is exactly what you look for in a successful midfielder - so you have to love to see that.

Ozzy Trent Kovács - Stockholm IK
Stockholm was 2nd in the league table after 3 matches, and I have to say that OTK was a big part of why that was. OTK had 1 goals and 4 assists, the 4 assists leading the entire Academy. In addition, they have attempted 10 shots, so when OTK has a chance to shoot, they are taking that. As a manager, you want someone who is going to take every opportunity to put the ball on target. OTK is second in the league in Key Passes with 15, so OTK knows who is there and finds them. OTK is a catalyst for what Stockholm tries to do as most of their offense is off of this guy's boot. 7 chances created is also tied for first in the entire league. We mentioned O'Neill having a very high Average Rating, well O'Neill is actually 2nd to OTK who has a 0.03 higher rating than O'Neill. There's no doubt that these are two of the names to watch in the draft as managers have to be keeping an eye on both of those people.

I hope you enjoyed my spotlight of 3 players to watch for after Academy Day 3. If you have any feedback, I am happy to listen and hear what you think! If you'd like to see more, feel free to let me know that as well!
