One of the voices in my head just asked me “How is Soccer going in Stockholm?” and instead of answering in my head, I’ll just answer on this page.
Well, by the Standings, Soccer is not in fact going well. We have a very odd group of ragtag players, and almost no cohesion between them. Add on the fact that we can’t clear the box or apply any pressure of our own, we’re just left with conceding corner after corner until they get one in.
It’s not for a lack of trying, or a lack of talent, or a lack of understanding. I mean some of the tactics other teams are rolling out are just as wacky, and just as implausible as our own. The symmetry is off the hook, and the roles make no sense. It’s just working for other teams and not for us. I don’t know if we need some new blood, or just need to continue to build on top of what we currently have, but I don’t think there’s much any of us, including our Manager can do right now.
But, it’s been a whole lot of fun watching my player run around not accomplishing much, and conceding just about every goal against. It has me checking my Bank Account and my TPE several times a day. Being awful, as a player or as a team, is such a great motivator to put in the work to be better. And that process, is a whole lot of fun.
