Masques strolled to a 3-0 victory against Cairo last night. Walker, McNeil and Chevalier put them to the sword with Warrick providing all 3 assists. It was certainly a great performance from Masques with all major statistics favouring them on all fronts. We were lucky enough to catch up with Walker after the match:
Q. We are now 3 games in, how are you finding your new surroundings and team-mates?
Walker: It's been good, very exciting. New team, new environment, new country, new staff, new players, it's been a lot to take in. But the guys here have been great in welcoming all the new players and I think we've gelled quickly with the more establishing players. I think the performances on the pitch, especially against Cairo shows we are all pulling in the same direction. I expect this to only improve as the season goes on.
Q. What about tonight's performance stands out to you?
Walker: The full-backs. Absolutely fantastic. The ground they covered, the tackles they made, the chances they created. It's a strikers dream come true with those deliveries into the box. Warrick with 3 assists, he pretty much ran the game and deserved his man of the match award. McNeil on another day it would have been him named man of the match. His goal was well deserved. If it wasn't for the opposition goalkeeper making some great saves I would have had another few goals myself and I've the both the full-backs to thank for chances that came my way. But I'll take the win for the team, that's the most important thing to take from this today.
Q. Next up is Montréal United, what do you expect
Walker: More of the same, this performance tonight should be our baseline and set us up for the rest of the season. At current, I think Montréal United should be worried about how we play, not about us worrying how they play.
Q. Lastly, what do you make of the rumours that the goalkeeper @Ghost - James Asprey is a vampire?
Walker: Explains why he hates dealing with crosses.
