Good evening and welcome back to another match recap here on ITLondinium-zone.com. My name is Abbey Westminster and today I will talk you through the second game of the season where London takes on Athênai F.C.. Due to budget cuts we will only be able to commentate on the short highlights of this match.
Only just a few days after the massive high, can London continue the winning form? They met Athênai which suffered a 3-0 loss against Krung Thep FC, led by an unleashed Matt Stro.
Before kicking off, we take a look at the London starting eleven. Madueke starts on the left wing in place of O'Neill and Cain will start on 10 instead of Cappellari.
Gagne provides the first poke at Satoshi’s goal in the 5th minute, but the shot lacks direction. Nearly 10 minutes later Kiziltas fires at goal for the first time, Satoshi saves.
GOAL!! In the 24th minute, London scores the opener, Miguel Alves does the job. However, VAR calls back the goal for offside..

Half an hour in, the game is not as action packed as last week. Only 4 shots in total across both teams, of which one a single shot on target.
The most noteworthy moment in the first half was the yellow card for Athênai's Sky Scraper in the 35th minute. The final ten minutes of the first half provide some action to bump up the total shots up to 13 of which 4 on target. However, the score is still unchanged. Askito Satoshi takes the cake for best performer in the first half, saving 5 shots and keeping Athênai alive.

The second half goes underway with Cappellari in place of Cain and O'Neill for Madueke.
Not even 5 minutes underway and Ryan O'Neill fetches a yellow for a strong tackle on Muñoz. This proves to be the wake-up call London needed as two minutes later O'Neill passes the ball from the left to Wad, Wad to Gagne who in turn gives the ball to Alves who puts a screamer in the top right corner past Satoshi. 0-1 to London. Frustration takes over as Morgenstern fouls O'Neill and gets booked.
Right on the hour mark, it's Kovács that doubles the London lead! Chef Gagne heads a cleared cross back to Kovács in the box, he turns to his left and shoots low in the near corner. London now comfortably in the lead, and well in charge of the match. Athênai struggled to keep up and needing a lot of fouls to keep London at bay.
However, only two minutes after the 0-2, there's Athênai to bring the difference back to one! Grimes with a free kick finds the head of Morgenstern who leaves Gun Jr no chance for a save. London is in shambles as they concede another goal in the 65th minute. This time Morgenstern gives the assist and Rivers finishes the job. Very close to offside as the replay shows, but it counts. From 0-2 to 2-2 in 3 minutes.
London regained composure and tried again to regain control of the match. Van Setten received a yellow after a foul on Kovács in minute 76.
It's London that has the best papers for a result in this match, they keep creating, albeit small, danger in front of Satoshi's goal. Then comes around minute 84. O'Neill breaks free on the left, passes to the center to Cappellari, through ball on Volkan. Volkan has to beat Grimes and passes Satoshi in the top right corner and brings London for the second time in the lead!
Other than a yellow for Muñoz in extra time, nothing changes the scoreline. A dream start to the season for Inter London.
London had the upper hand for the majority of the match, a sudden drop in concentration and a breach from Athênai made this match closer than necessary.
Ozzy Trent Kovács has been crowned as player of the match. The home crowd favored the likes of Satoshi and Morgenstern as their players of the match.
Finally, now let's take a look at the standings.
