My time in the academy…so far
#1
Hello everyone. For this weeks PT i wanted to write about how my time in the academy is going so far. I have nothing but good things to say about the people in the Stockholm IK locker room, though I must admit I am not sure what the “IK” stands for. The teams manager has been friendly and helpful. When a new player joins the team they ask for a quick introduction and preferred position and then does their best to get them into a good spot in the tactics. There are also several teammates who are excited and eager which is great. The vibes are solid, so that in of itself is a good thing.

One thing I am personally struggling with, though, is staying engaged. I’ve had this conversation with some of my ISFL contacts in the league - about how it’s tough to expect academy players to stay active and excited for Academy matches for weeks to months depending on when they join. Someone like me who is more seasoned in sim leagues (maybe I’m just speaking for myself here) likely believes that the Academy is just a time sink and doesn’t really offer anything of substance in the grand scheme of things. I’m doing my best to hold out, but it’s been a slog so far. Maybe I need to try and catch a stream instead of box score watching. As a defensive player there’s not much to be excited about looking at the post game stats lol.

The pre-draft seasons definitely difficult if you don't watch the games! 3/5 (I think that 2 for all those numbers should have been a 3, sorry)
