D1 all but confirmed for Masques Sacrés, 6th all to place for
#1
After the latest round of fixtures we are a step closer to confirming who will be in the Minor Top Division next season and who will be in division 2.

AS Paris, FC Kaapstadt and CS Rova Mpanjaka have already confirmed their participation next season but all 3 teams will have their eyes on the top prize of champions for this season. AS Paris are currently 5 points ahead of FC Kaapstadt, meaning one bad result for them in the next 3 games would probably hand the title to the pre-season favourites. CS Rova being 8 points back and a much worse goal difference are probably looking at 2nd at best (3 points behind FC Kaapstadt) and 4th at worst (6 ahead of Masques Sacrés).

Masques have all but confirmed their participation in the top Minor division next season with them boasting a 7 point difference to 6th place Montréal United but will want to continue and finish the season on a high by securing at least 4th place. It would take a very specific set of results for have them fall out to 7th place.

Krung Thep FC currently lay in 5th place with 30 points will know they need to finish strong to reach the promised land of the top division and will look to do so after a strong campaign. While they are not safe yet, they do have a 3 point gap and fixtures against the teams trying to catch them (Montréal & Seoul) meaning they will be directly able to affect the teams below them.

The last place in play for Division 1 should be fought out between Montréal United, Seoul Mythic FC, Rapid Magyar and Inter London with only 3 points separating all 4 teams. Inter London will be still thinking they have a great chance as they still have to play Montréal United in a proper 6 point swing match. They managed to beat them 4-2 in their last fixture and will be hoping to claim the points in similar fashion this time.

Having looked at the fixtures to come, Seoul MFC look to have the easiest run in out of the teams. While they would expect a defeat against AS Paris, they would equally expect a win against Athénai FC and will be confident of beat Krung Thep FC having beat them earlier in the season.

If Seoul do manage to get 6 points, Montréal will need to at least match them to stay ahead.

If I was a betting man, I would say Seoul MFC will be the final team to get the 6th place spot. Goal Difference could play a part at the end so there will be plenty to look out for come the end of the fixtures.

Remaining Fixtures for 6th Place

Montréal - Krung Thep FC, Inter London, FC Kaapstad

Seoul - AS Paris, Athénai FC, Krung Thep FC

Rapid - Inter London, CS Rova Mpanjaka, North Shore United

Inter - Rapid Magyar SC, Montréal United, AS Paris

I greatly enjoyed the article. There was a thought of whether the narrative could have be fleshed out more or if there could have been an even deeper investigation into the end-of-season fixture list. However, the article had depth and even some cool color-coding. I think this is a 5/5, so I will give it such.

5/5
