WSFC bringing out all the emotions
#1
The following article feels more like someone calling into a radio call-in show. So without further adieu, "Hi, long time listener, first time caller..."

When I first joined the SSL I thought it would be some kind of niche site that I'd log into once and awhile, check on my player, you know - a minimum amount of amusement.

But I'm glad to say that theory of mine was completely baseless.

The amount of comradery and jovial rivalries that I see in Discord warms my heart. They say, "you get out of it as much as you put in," rings true for the SSL. The more you get involved, the more you learn about people, the players they created, the history of the league (both good and bad). This is all backed by everyone who also contributes to the league - and there are a lot of ways to contribute.

At any rate, this World Simulation Football Classic has been great so far. Apart from the Pyrenees, the games have been upsets or nail-biters. High-scoring games, penalties, missed penalties, extra time, more penalties!

I haven't been able to join the live voice chats when the games premier but the match commentary has been so nice. The production value for a simulation league is off the charts.

To any of the new people what have joined the league that might happen to read this and are asking the question, "Is it worth it?" It's worth it. Forget about any kind of payment, just the enjoyment you get out of it alone pays for itself. I've started joining other SIM leagues as well but other than the current relationships already fostered within the SSL they don't seem as welcoming for new players (from my perspective).

If you have any questions about how to get involved in the league, the Board of Directors, Managers, Commissioners and various random people around the league will be more than willing to answer them and get you involved.

A big thank you to Canadice and the simmers for this tournament. And good games to all the regional managers and best of luck for the final four. I hope the semi's and finals will be as good as the last two stages of matches. Well done everyone.
