S24 State of the League

Congratulations to the winner of the second official WSFC, Pyrenees Region, after a thrilling 5-4 victory in the final match. A great way to end the two week world tournament filled with exciting matches all throughout.

After this extended off-season we have now entered into the 24th season of the league, the first with the new divisional structure. The SSL Calendar and Portal is up to date with the new season schedule where we will see each team face off against their divisional rivals on the hunt for the championship or promotion. The SSL Cup will be handled the same way as previous seasons, where teams from all tiered leagues and divisions face each other in a one round knockout tournament starting with the first qualifying round for the bottom 16 teams. The first game in the Cup will premiere on February 10th.

Rule Changes

As is custom for these seasonal posts, we have some updates of the Rulebook that we want to announce and make everyone aware of.

The first is less news and more a structural change as procedures that were detailed in the Manager Guide for the Prospect Draft, tactics etc. are now only in the Rulebook, specifically section E-G. They are mostly relevant to the Managers and Tacticians who have been notified in a separate post.

Changes to Trading
To clarify more about what is allowed and not both for organizations and accountants we have implemented the following changes to trading. In summary the changes clarify the period between the trade deadline and the off-season, give a processing timeline for accountants, and clarify what conditional assets are.

After the Trade Deadline, no trades can be submitted until the start of the off-season.

G.2.b
A trade is considered officially submitted when all involved Organizational Managers have publicly accepted the trade, after which no changes can be made by the involved organizations unless required as a result of the processing of the trade.

G.2.b.ii
A trade is considered complete when approved and processed by an SSL Accountant. A trade should be processed at most 72 hours after the trade is officially submitted.

G.2.d
Trades may not include conditional assets. This includes, but is not limited to, delayed processing and conditional draft picks based on standing placement.

Tampering
Another clarification is what is considered as tampering as a list of common actions/requests are considered as tampering. We also wanted to clarify that requests framed as jokes will with repetition be considered the same as a direct tampering infraction.

Delayed payments for bounties in S22

During S22 there was a backlog in bounty grading that caused a subset of users to not have enough money available to them for a full individual training (purchasing TPE via the Bank) before the season turned over. After finally going through all the bounty payments and checking those users’ TPE purchases we have summarized the following list of users that received enough money to fund some or all of their remaining TPE from that season.

We will during this week adjust the max purchasable TPE for these players this season, giving them the opportunity to purchase this additional TPE during this season (and only this season) instead.

In order to prevent this from happening in the future the bounty and banker departments have implemented a “Bounty Deadline” every season. Announced ahead of time (as seen in the SSL Calendar) the Friday before the off-season is the last day to submit bounties that are guaranteed to be graded and submitted before the season turnover giving you a chance to purchase TPE from that season as well. It was initially implemented in S23 and seems to have fulfilled its intended purpose.

Changes to Bounty Grading

Details of these changes were announced here. In short the article grading is now on a per word basis with the ability of graders to issue bonuses for great submissions. In addition we are re-introducing the ability for users to submit to the forum banner rotation (seen in the left side on a wide enough screen) via a seasonal banner competition.

Referral Bonuses

The Recruitment department would like to remind everyone about the Referral program. This program rewards the referred user (and the recruiter) when they hit specific TPE targets with their first player:

400 TPE - $1 million bank deposit
500 TPE - $2 million bank deposit
700 TPE - $3 million bank deposit
1000 TPE - $4 million bank deposit
2000 TPE - $7.65 million bank deposit ONLY FOR THE RECRUITED PLAYER.

The Recruiter rewards caps at 30 million per player career (as banks are tied to the player).

This is the first week of the new class so now is the best time to join the league and be part of our S24 class!

Make sure that your recruited user fills out the Recruited By section on the forum registration form highlighted in red in the attached image.

SFV Organizational Manager

We are still looking for an organizational manager for SFV/MTL. The Organization is now under BoD Stewardship with the help of the two experienced Assistant Managers who are not able to take on the main responsibility at this time.
