Academy Task 5: The oldest draft class playing
#1
With a new season starting I wanted to look back and see who there was remaining from previous seasons.  Currently the oldest unretired draft class is S13 with 3 players still keeping up to pace for at least one more season.  Lets take a look at some of the highlights of these 3 players long careers;

Fist we have Alessandro Del Pirlo, a CAM from Italy.  He is currently playing for the North Shore United and had also played for many years with the Reykjavik United.  His highest rated season was back in season 15 with an 8.13 average rating.  He typically averages around 7.8 ratings each year but this past season had a small reduction to a career low of 7.29.  In season 20 he would score his career high of 26 goals with 66 shots on target.  He would post over 20 goals a total of 3 seasons throughout his career.  With only 1 appearance this season it is still early to judge but with a 6.7 I'm sure both Alessandro and his teammates hope to have some improvements to continue his long and glorious career.

The second remaining player of S13 is Wang Zhihao, a Stiker from China.  Spending most of his career with Montreal United and Schwarzwalder FV, he has managed to contributing striker for many years.  With a career high average rating of 8.07 back in season 17 things have been up and down for the player.  Season 23 was one of the two lowest for this player and sadly has only got lower since then.  He has scored a career high of 22 goals in a single season in both both seasons 17 and 20.  He would put up really good numbers still up until season 23 when he started to have some regression and would inevitably see less minutes on the pitch.  He did have a bit of a bounce back in season 25 getting a 6.9 but with time working against us all it could be hard see himself in the 7-8 ratings without a lot of team support.  Fortunately his team is always behind him and will hopefully be another good season ahead for Wang.

Brick Wall Jr. is the 3rd and final remaining member of the S13 draft class.  He is a goaltender currently playing for the same team as Alessandro Del Pirlo, the North Shore United.  With a long career he was posting over 7.0 and kept close to that number since only his 3rd season.  With a career high of 7.08 in back to back seasons 16 and 17.  Season 16 he stopped over 75% of total shots on goal for his club.  In season 22 he would help backstop his club to 19 wins for a 19-3-4 finish.  It is safe to say that from season 16-22 this goalie was a cornerstone piece for his club.  Still today Brick Wall lives up to his name posting a strong 6.86 in season 25.  With just a single game played so far this year it may be early to judge, but with a very impressive 7.8 rating in that one game he is showing his team he still has what it takes to compete in this league.

No matter what happens with these 3 players this season they will be appreciated and remembered well by their teammates for years of contribution to their respective clubs.  Good luck to the 3 of S13!
