No, Okada, it's not a Conspiracy.
#1
We're four games into the season and Kaz Okada has sat down with me to take a look at how the season has progressed. He looks at me with a suspicious tone evident just from his eyes.

"You wrote about us last week, and we're now in last place."

I remind him that it's my job to write about them, and he just continues to accuse me of something without actually accusing me with his glare. I move on. I bring up the fact that so far, despite the 1-1-2 record, Kaapstad only has a -2 goal differential, which isn't that much of a hill to overcome, so it's not to late to turn the season around, especially when the team has six rookies, including himself, who are developing quickly being thrown into the fire.

"Who's paying you? I can pay you more."

I tell him that the SSL itself pays me to write these, and that no, he can't pay me more than the league does, he has to put his money towards training. He pushes his chair back with a loud scrape, standing up, walking towards the door, before stopping, hand on the handle and looking over his shoulder.

"You better not write anything about me getting cards, either. I'll break this conspiracy wide open."

And then he left without another word.

Kaz does have three yellow cards in five games, playing a slightly aggressive style thus far.  There's no conspiracy, he's just rough to play against. Until next time...
