Not much is known publicly about the expansion orgs at the moment, but today we are pleased to share with you the first sliver of actual news in weeks. Initially it was reported who the organisational managers were going to be, but since then it has been radio silence. No leaks or tips on locations, team names, branding or anything. Today that changes…. We have actual news to share on the fortunes of one of our new SSL expansion orgs.
The expansion org going around calling themselves Expansion Org 2 for the time being have reportedly begun reaching out to some of the prospects of the Academy. We can’t say for certain how many of them have been contacted so far, but our sources say that these new prospects should be keeping an eye on their DMs, as the org managers are actively scouting. The other piece of news is that one of the highest rated prospects in the Academy has openly admitted that he is committing to Expansion Org 2. Rylakn, the Left Wing Back for the Academy leaders Jakarta held a press conference just minutes ago to announce to the world that he has verbally committed to the new Organisation.
Officially of course, he will still be up for grabs by any club, but by making such a public statement, he really is telling the other teams not to draft him to their orgs. Who knows what this new club has promised the young Australian, but it must be good if he is willing to commit so early on in the piece. Does he know where the teams will be based? Surely they have had the conversation with the youngster.
In 7 games so far this season Rylakn has impressed scouts. The recent Aussie Rules Football convert has taken to the level of play like he has been kicking the round ball his whole life. It may have something to do with the fact that he is a more mature recruit compared to some of the fresh faced teenagers he is playing against, but either way he has looked promising.
Looking over his stats we can see that he compares well to his fellow academy player, he is currently:
5th in distance travelled
2nd in player of the match awards
8th for successful passes
11th for pass completion percentage
9th for key passes
1st for successful crosses
7th for Open play key passes
6th for progressive passes
7th for successful presses
13th for press percentage
As you can see, he is a bit of a playmaker on the wing for Jakarta and is proving to be capable at many aspects of the game. It is early in this young winbacks career, but if he can continue to develop at the speed that we have witnessed since he joined the academy, The new Expansion Org may have just snapped themselves up a bargain by locking him down early.
