Feels like I got off the plane just now, but it's already been a week. Remember when you and Da thought Medellin was in Spain and I'd be just be down the road from Glasgow? Seventeen hours later mind you. Always said McRae's weren't built for economy class.
Anyway, just patter, it is lovely here this time of year, miles better than the pure dreich of home.
The new lads here been calling me 'thistle'. Swear they just googled Scotland and found the first thing they liked. Gaffer says it's because I've got a bit of bite at training. Hopefully it's not because they think I'm a prick. A bit daft but if I say too much it'll make it stick more.
Don't tell Da yet but there's chat that the top league's expanding. Might be a better chance of me making it to the big stage in the next few months. Might not be so skint for too much longer. Ha.
Anyway, best leave it here. I've got some other jobs to do before calling it a night, 'academy tasks' the gaffer calls them. Seem more like an initiation ritual to me. Maybe all lost in translation, I still dinnae understand a word anyone's saying to me on the street.
Other than thistle of course. Maybe for the best.
