What the heck happened? After a decent start to the season, CF Catalunya has fallen on hard times to the tune of a 2-1-3 record and we find ourselves in 5th place in the league, currently in a “Play for your lives” position. That sucks. The good news is that we’re tied in points with Reykjavik United, and they’re just in front of us because of the slightly better (one goal) point differential. USP is in 1st place, 5 points ahead of us, and Hollywood (and Liffeyside) have 10 points. We’re not like, out of the race by any means but we need to start pulling off some wins. As for Alejandro Fuecoco, he’s not doing his part this season, and it’s slightly infuriating. Through 8 matchday games, Fuecoco only has 2 points. 1 goal and 1 assist. Whatever the hell Catalunya is running this season is not conducive to Fuecoco’s game and for him to be even better than he was a season ago, when he had 7 points in the 16 games that were played. His XG is down to 1.19. Things are NOT going well for him this year, which honestly plays into why the team is worse off this season, despite everyone gaining in TPE and being better players. Catalunya needs to stop being silly and they need to unlock their amazing, could be an All-Star CAM, and let him do his thing. Because this? This ain’t it.
