Having last spoken to Luke Walker about his off season plans, we found out he was actually participating in a golf tournament during his time off, 4 Nations NHS Classic which pits the qualifying members of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland against each other in a team event.
After 54 holes in 2 days in grueling heat, scorched fairways and fantastic company the Northern Irish team were victorious claiming their 25th victory in the previously 34 held editions of the competition. With this being Walker's 6th time playing and yet to be on the losing side, he finally completed his own personal Grand Slam win, having now won in every country with England the final piece of his jigsaw.
"I'm absolutely buzzing. Carden Park was the perfect place to finally get the final win I needed in England to say I'm unbeaten in all countries during this fantastic run. Having won at Archerfield 2015 (Scotland), Vale of Glamorgan 2017 (Wales), Templepatrick 2023 (Northern Ireland), Cardrona 2024 (Scotland), Llandrindod Wells 2025 (Wales) and now Carden Park 2026 (England) it's great to know that this unbeaten run has been fully worth it and one I'll always remember. It's a fantastic competition and it's been great to see everyone I've played with over the years playing in the proper spirit that makes these things worth going to. I look forward to hopefully qualifying again for next year and defending the crown again on home turf. But not this is over, it's back to the gym for me to prepare for the new season, with the management eager to get me working again".
