The years have gone by quick for Armero Staple. It seems like his rookie season was just yesterday. He and his team have struggled through the 3 years he has been here. Losing a game early and getting flipped by a division 1 team in the cup. Armero is now a captain of this Athenai team and may be considered a veteran presence. A lot of training sessions and workouts have went into the play he just had recently, where he got faster, more agile, and way smarter. In his most recent matchday Armero Staple posted 2 goals with an 8.5 match rating that unfortunately ended up in a tie for this team. Armero Staple was on target 60% of the time on his 5 shots taken that game showing how dangerous he was moving around the goal the entire game. This game was pretty devastating for Staple knowing that he could've probably scored on the other 3 shots he had taken. As for Athenai the hope is for the season to not look like the prior seasons at all. With Armero Staple coming closer to his goals of off ball movement, his coaches push him to finally touch the weight room. This week will be his first ever time inside of a weight room and the first time he has ever lifted weights. This is good and bad, the good being that he has so much room for growth that he has not tapped into yet, The bad being that he has never touched a weight in his life. Anyways Armero will need to bring 110% of what he has every matchday to try and get the Athenai to winning culture. #7 is still far away, because Mero has not proven even a little bit that he deserves to put the jersey on.
