Start of the season baby!
Finally some good football again. I think it is going to be a stressfull season on one hand but maybe more relaxed on the other. USP is no longer the crowd favorites to win the title for what feels like forever. We usually did not win it when we were favorites though so maybe its a good thing!
Paris is still for sure the favorites however at this point it is no longer a big difference. Other teams are catching up, Paris is getting older. I think its going to be a good GOOD season.
However some pressure is removed too, and while USP has ofcourse long lost the underdog status, there is something in the org that likes not being the favorite.
The friendlies so far have been a mixed bag, a loss against Shanghai and a narrow win against AC Romana for USP and for Paris it is only a win against Cairo so far. Really surprised by how strong Cairo is seemingly out of nowhere. I think they will finish above a lot of current D1 teams this season, which just goes to show that the level of competition even in D2 has risen dramatically.
Exciting times!
