Inter London was finally able to get off the mark in terms of goal scoring! In a battle against the top team in the Division 2, Accra, London was able to end their scoring drought, slotting 2 past the league favorites. The team was absolutely buzzing and the fans have been electric ever since. In the 16th minute, after a great ball in from Svichi, Aloisi broke the deadlock, and lifted the spirits of the struggling club. Youre put his hands in the sky and reflected on his journey to this league, then ran to the corner flag to celebrate with the team. The mood shifted dramatically, and London played with a renewed vigor for the next 75 minutes. Inspired and filled with confidence, London surged again in the 74th minute and Clafflin was able to double the lead, and seal the team's first victory of the season.
Now that the monkey is off their backs, London will look to build on the success and recapture that feeling each week. The season is certainly off to a rough start, and will be rocky the rest of the way. But now that they know they can score, Inter will play with a renewed confidence and keep fighting the rest of the campaign. If they can tighten up and have some of these goals that clanged of the bar end up in the back of the net, things could turn around rather quickly. Or the struggle could continue. In any case, they'll stick together and keep fighting.
The club is very clearly in a rebuilding phase, but it seems like the pieces to build on are most definitely in place and Youre is more than happy to help bring the team back to prominence. All it takes is a strong team bond and hard work.
