Following the unfortunate departure of Ioannis Papastathopoulos in London, agent Marc Friesburg began searching Europe for his next player to represent and hopeful this time they would not be as controversial on the pitch as Papastathopoulos was. During his search Marc heard whispers of a young talent out of Eastern Europe that was making waves through their domestic league.
Marc booked a one way ticket from his home in Canada to Poland for a chance to watch this young rising star in action. The flight was decent in length, and Marc just spend time praying that other agents had not gotten to this player first. Marc landed in Munich with a connecting flight to Rzeszow, a smaller city in the Galicia region of Poland and once he arrived Marc sprinted to grab a taxi and headed straight to the stadium.
Marc got lucky, and had just arrived in time for a game between the local club, and a visiting team from Gdansk. Marc found himself a prime seat to view the game and began to eye number 5, Jerzy Moder. Jerzy was playing at the Attacking Mid field position, his natural role and Marc began taking notes on his play.
Throughout the duration of the full 90 minutes, Moder played a very responsible game with exceptional vision as he was able to single out teammates with efficient crosses and long balls, which directly resulted in 2 goals. When Marc thought he had seen it all, the local team was granted a Free Kick after a foul on Moder as he dribble just outside the box. The fans were on the edge of their seats as Moder lined up to take the shot.
Moder took a deep breath in, hands on his hips. He stared up at the sky, closed his eyes, took a deep breath and a short run began. Moder wound up, and released a spectacular shot curving just around the wall of players in front of the goal, and nestled right in the top right corner of the net.
Marc was sold, and managed to convince Moder to sign with him, as great things were about to come in the SSL.
