Finally after a few weeks of training the first matches were about to start, two friendlies in total the first friendly against the first division number 7 (and thus this season league 2 team) Adowa Accra FC. Getting to hear I was going to be starting that match up front together with AZEVEDO. The first match didn’t go all to well, we kind of got dominated from start to finish, only getting 5 shots in while Accra got 20 shots in. The eventual score also reflected it going home (or I guess staying home) with a 0-3 loss. For myself I got 29 passes from which 25 reached a teammate, but all of them were kind of the inconsequential passes. A few headers from which I won around 50%. And a few shots.
The second match was against A.C. Romana, the other expansion team and after going behind after only 2 minutes, I did manage to score from a amazing free kick from who else than Direct Free-Kick the free kick specialist in the 53rd minute managing to score my first goal for Red Star Laos and the last goal in that match ending the match 1-1. This second match was a lot closer with the shots being 12 of ours against 11 of theirs. For myself some nice passes and of course the goal. The next goal is getting ready for the first match that actually matters for the season, and hopefully having showed enough in the pre-season friendlies to get selected for that first match of the season.
The division 2 match against CA Buenos Aires, last season this team ended 4th of the 2nd division and with their pre-season being a tight 2-0 loss against a strong looking Seoul MFC and a 1-0 win against first division side União São Paulo, CA Buenos Aires was definitely looking like a difficult match.
