First season to forget?

With the team moving from Sydney City to Reykjavik in Iceland, there were high hopes for a fresh start and a good start. There were people and players in place to really set this team in the right direction and the chemistry of the team was high. Ambition was high, energy was high aswell from the players and their hopes were at getting promoted to the first division after coming down from last season.

And now, 11 games into the season and we can all pretty much agree that the first season with the new team name, in a new city and with new team colors has not gone to plan. With only 3 wins so far and having played 11 games, that is way below the expectation that the management had for the first season. Also, the players had their eyes on promotion and playing in the top division next season but I guess the only way they will play against division 1 teams will be in the league cup.

With 3 games left to play in the season, the hopes would be to finish 1-1-1, having a somewhat even record and gaining some momentum for the offseason and for next season. The players got their monkeys off their backs for the first season and will gain and improve to get that promotion spots or the title spot in the 2nd division next season.
