Proving Your Worth

Dominik Wilk has had one hell of a start to his Simulation Soccer League career. He came on to the Montreal squad with a mission to start off – prove his worth to management and teammates, and earn a good spot on the squad.

His first couple of games were pedestrian at best, not really marking his presence on the court much at all. This all would soon change however, as Dominik suited up for a game against Seoul. The game ended in a 2-0 victory for Montreal, in which it was the young Dominik Wilk who hit a lucky but crucial rebound goal to seal the victory for his team.

Hitting the first goal of his young career was an ecstatic moment for Dominik. He celebrated with all his teammates throughout the night – but the very next day he got back to practice.

It paid off tremendously. The next gameday, Montreal was playing Adowa Accra FC in an important game for Montreal’s promotion chances. The game started with Montreal going down 0-1, which they managed to even out with a corner chance to hit 1-1. Unfortunately Manone would have to leave the court with an unlucky injury, allowing Wilk to hit the court. The young Pole didn’t waste any time, going all out immediately and managing to get a one on one situation against the goalkeeper – which he turned into a 2-1 goal. The score would remain for the rest of the game and Montreal United went home with a victory.

Even more so than the last one, this goal was less luck and much more skill for young Wilk. These past couple of games have reinforced his self confidence as he’s finally starting to hit his groove on the court with the new team. Only time will tell how far he’ll go, but the road is bright.
