Glenn Smart has had a fairly solid season at the heart of the AC Romana defense. While he is still adjusting to life in a back four, as opposed to roaming the midfield and breaking up the play the way he did in his younger years, his adaptation has a fairly swift process. He’s constantly working on his pace and positioning, in an attempt to get to grips with the high line and fast attackers that seem to be so common within the Simulation Soccer League. While he is still getting caught out, a little too frequently for his liking, there has been less and less instances of such plays as the season has progressed.
With a new center back partner joining the squad for next season, after the relatively unsuccessful trial with Terrence alongside Smart, the future is looking bright for the young central defender. With a Nunez on either side of the pairing, both of whom love to get forward and cause problems at the other end of the field, a solid duo is going to be a must if Romana are to push on and continue their rapid progression towards not only being a D1 team but also establishing themselves at the next level.
