It’s been an interesting pre-season for AC Romana. Facing off against Cairo City and AS Paris really allowed us to see where we stood within the division, as one team is expected to fight for promotion, while the other is expected to be found closer to the foot of the table. Naturally, every preseason is exclusively about finding fitness, form and perfecting the general strategy that the team plans to employ heading into the new season. With AC Romana playing a possession based brand of football, the latter is well and truly covered. So, for us, it was really about getting ourselves ready and bedding in the new recruits that we managed to pick up during the off season.
To come away from both games with a win leaves us in an excellent position as we head into the season, with the goal of promotion at the end of the rainbow. While AC Romana have been towards the bottom half of the table in both of their seasons so far, the team has developed exceptionally well over their short tenure within the league and boasts one of the most active teams in the league. Whatever the outcome of the season, the progress we have made to this point seems positive and the future of the club looks bright and in safe hands.
