The Federation of Asia and Oceania football team came into the group stages of the WSFC favorites to advance, if not win their group against Canada https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/canada.png and The Federation of Eastern Europe https://files.jcink.net/uploads2/simsoccer/teamEmotes/easterneurope.png . A strong 2-1 win against strong title candidates USA in a recent friendly gave the Asiana team hope and belief of making waves in the inaugural tournament. However, things went amiss in their first game, where the Canadians led by Sky Ryze managed to outduel the Asiana side 3-2. Despite a strong game from Shinju Kaido, Vins Vins, and Berocka Aloisi, the height and power of the Canadian front line was simply too much to handle. Things really got out of hands when starting centerback Videl Valor took a knock, and midfielder Hinata Hyuga was forced to try and hold the lines out of position. The second match against Eastern Europe was hardly a smooth affair either, but this time around, no injury or towering striker was there to spoil the result. Lachlan Martinez bagged a brace for Asiana early into the second half, and with strong help from Aloisi and Kuai Liang, the critical game ended in a positive 3-2 result. While defensively shaky in both games, hardly looking an unbeatable unit, the front line has produced goals in good order too. Perhaps a title may be a tough Asiana, but now into the knockout rounds, they have the talent to beat any team on the right night, and so advance with hopes still alive.
