Clara Schmidt, a young german woman who fell in love with the beautiful game at a young age was now oh so close to finally making it. She has endured a lot from the very moment she has first stepped foot on the pitch. She heard so many things from boys in her age group. "You're only a little girl", "Girls can't play well", "You don't belong here." and so many more things. Probably for a lot of other people, this would of discouraged them. But for Clara this was only motivating her more. She wanted to show them. Show them all that she was not only here to stay but she also belonged with the very best. After many years of training and hard work, she was finally here. She was called up to the academy league. While her original postion was on the wing, she was put in the middle of the pitch, playing as an attacking midfielder. That was of course no problem to her. After all she has played on both wings and as an attacking midfielder throughout her younger years, as such she had experience on more than one position. The season itself went rather well. Of course there was ups and downs but one of if not the most memorable part of the year was when she managed to regain the ball near the opponent's 16 yard box and then go on to score an absolute screamer from a long way out. That was definitely a moment that she will cherish for a long time. And now with the academy season already gone, she was waiting for her very first draft. Which of course have made her very nervous but also very excited about the future. Clara Schmidt was indeed here to stay and prove that she belonged.
