Laying the first Slab
#1
This week's PT felt like a good opportunity for me to recap the first couple of games that kicked off the infamous Slab Head's SSL career for the greatest academy team in existence, Sydney City.

Slab Head has been the starting LCB in Sydney's 4-2-3-1 formation since his debut on Matchday 7. Alongside RCB Coin Flip, Slab Head has been part of a formidable centre back pairing for the Roos, kicking off his career with a couple of solid if unremarkable performances.

Looking through Slab Head's stats through 2 games, the first thing that stands out is his game time. 180 minutes played of 180 minutes available, this shows two things: One, his dependability, and two, the coaching staff already have trust in their young defender.
Delving deeper into his stats, Slab Head is continuing the pattern of play that has made him an up and coming name in the world of simulation *football*, putting in dominating defensive performances. This is epitomised by his 86% header win percentage and 83% successful tackle rate. While small sample sizes at this time, these success rates are indicative of Slab Head's typical style of play, and should go some way to quell any doubts that he can compete at this level.
Slab Head has added 4 clearances and 6 interceptions to these impressive success rates, showing the type of presence he can be at the back.

One area in which Slab Head has already shown improvement in early in his SSL career is his confidence on the ball. Slab Head had always been a no-nonsense, get the ball clear kind of centre back, but his passing stats since his debut show a different story. An 88% pass completion rate through almost 100 passes through 2 games is a great improvement for Slab Head, and gives a glimpse of the ceiling he could reach if he develops as e
xpected.
