Most recently in the SSL league, União São Paulo went up against A.C. Romana. Both teams came into the match with a fresh mindset and fresh legs as the match kicked off. União São Paulo kept enormous pressure on Romana’s defense in the 1st half but was never able to get past the goalie. Towards the end of the 21st minute, Romana shocked everyone with a shock goal scored by Walter Pinkman after intercepting a goalie pass. Shaken up, União São Paulo tried to fend off more scores by the end of the half but a last minute 2nd goal scored by Pinkman shattered that reality. The 2nd half had both teams exchanging attacks trying to penetrate the other’s defense. União São Paulo managed to get a goal in the 57th minute after a brilliant cross from Hashimoto connected with Julian Rubio. With the game 2-1, both sides continued to hammer away at one another. With time running out União São Paulo struggled to get the equalizer as the game drew to a close. As the final whistle blew, Romana had achieved their first win for this year’s league. União São Paulo will need to give it their all in the final game to dictate who will win it all.
