GRADED: United win championship, Millwall celebrates
#1
Right after the referee blew the whistle on the game, Montréal United players did erupt into cheers. The Schwarzwälder FV's minor league affiliate had just won the first championship in their organization's long history after a stunning season that saw them climb the standing's top spot very early into the season. With their 3-1 victory away at Inter London FC, Montréal bumped up their points total to 33 for the season and moved out of Kaapstad's reach. The South Africans hard-fought 4-3 win over North Shore United was rendered meaningless.

The newly crowned champions played a fantastic round of football all season long, winning 11 of their 13 games up until this point. While their offensive output was above average at least, it was Montréal's defensive line that proved to be the backbone of this championship run: The United have conceded just 20 goals in the regular season.

First year player Cameron Millwall could consider himself blessed to have been invited along for the journey: While he didn't appear in all games possible, the rookie from Germany still managed to pull off 9 1/2 appearances and left a reasonable impression when on the pitch. For his development, the experiences made this year could prove to be very crucial.
