It is not easy being a giant yellow bird and also a budding goalkeeper in the Simulation Soccer League. McTendie has started to be recognized more and more when he goes out. A typical day used to be hanging out with friends playing a round of golf, or going to the indoor court to play some no pressure games against other recreational opponents. Now however McTendie is known.
Anytime he walks into the local watering hole he gets it from the woman behind the counter. "Hey McTendie 5 goals allowed last match?" Or the guy over at the pool table "Hey Chicken! I thought you were supposed to be good what kind of a save attempt was that on Thursday?" But he lets it roll off his feathers. He knows better days are coming. The academy is well known to be scoring focused. Defense is an afterthought.
So as he continues to deal with being a public face for the first time in his life McTendie has taken some measures to go unnoticed. He has found that if he goes out later at night when his color isn't as obvious he can get around a little easier. So golfing has transitioned into going to late night bowling alleys. Rec soccer no longer is really an option as people don't want to play with an up and coming professional. But that hasn't stopped him from going to the courts. He now is more of a coach and a mentor. Helping youngsters out to learn the game.
He also has began going to more and more matchdays of the big league clubs trying to soak in knowledge from the ways some of the great goaltenders play the game. He recently was spotted at the Schwarzwalder FV and CD Tenochtitlan game and watched Muunokhoi Sarantsatsral record his league leading 5th clean sheet of the season.
All in all Chicken is just trying to lead as normal of a life as possible that a professional athelete giant birdman can.
