Theme Week - Eirlys and the High Seas
#1
There's one thing that Eirlys loves more than soccer and that's sailing. Back in high school out in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, Eirlys was forced to take an "extra circular" class. As to why her time on the soccer team didn't count, beats me. So she took a sailing class. The school had a small lake near it and once a week she would go learn to sail. Then a few friends of hers started doing it on during the weekends of the off season. Eirlys even...well this one time...she...yeah on a boat...for the first time. Anywayyyyy. After her injury (no thanks to that Soderberg jerk) she needed something to pass the time during rehab. So she continued the sailing. With help she was able to still enjoy something she loved through the rehab process and it really, really helped. She would sometimes even take her younger brother Conner out, although he never really picked it up. So when Athenai drafted Eirlys, the first thing she did of course was find a place she could sail. After signing her contract she even got to buy her own sailboat! One big enough that she actually lives down on the marina in the boat. It's a simple place, but the tide rocks her to sleep and most of her time is spent on the Athenai Athletic Training Facilities anyway.

Another thing that Eirlys loves is hockey. She never really played, but her brother does and she makes sure to record or watch every game of his. Eirlys was his biggest cheerleader when we was coming through the system at Cardiff. She goes skating when she can. It's exciting that Conner has set aside a fund to help build a rink in Swansea so kids don't have to drive to Cardiff to go play. But mostly, she just watches the SHL and has a ton of Nevada and Philly gear on her sailboat. It's even named the Chuck-a-Puck after the intermission promotion (and maybe cause Conner would "throw up pucks" when he went out sailing with her).
