After devastating losses such as a 2-4 loss to Romana, 3-9 loss to Reykjavik, 7-0 loss to Hollywood, a 4-0 loss to Sao Paulo and a 2-4 loss to Tokyo, Catalunya have won their first game of S21 in the Major League against Shanghai Dragons. Catalunya captured a 3-0 win with Ben Nelson, Ljubica Kamenova, and Tre Quartista on the scoresheet. This match was Nikolai's first convincing performance for Catalunya, achieving a 7.6 match rating and assisting the first goal off a set piece on the touchline. Later in the match Nikolai was involved in the second goal, holding possession outside the box before passing to De Trella, who assisted for Kamenova's goal. Nikolai delivered a nice little chip cross into Tre Quartista who headered it in for what would've been a 3rd, but the flag was raised for offsides. In the 78th minute Nikolai Ahmed provided a great through ball for a 1v1 with Kamenova and the keeper, but Kamenova skied the chance.
Although the game ended 3-0 and Nikolai only provided 1 assist, he created many chances to make it at least 5-0 and have a hattrick of assists, and Catalunya will hope that Nikolai keeps this motivation to be a creative player throughout the season.
