Andres De Giron Spotted Doing Bizarre Dawn Workouts in Seoul Hills
Seoul, 3:42 AM — Who needs the gym when you’ve got a mountain, a backpack, and an iron will? Seoul Mythic FC’s Guatemalan dynamo, Andres De Giron, was spotted again this week sprinting up the slopes behind Namsan Tower with what appeared to be a military-grade hiking pack strapped to his back. Witnesses claim the bag was “clinking” as he ran — which, according to sources close to the club, is because it’s full of actual bricks.
The young wing back – already infamous for ending up in perilous situations off the pitch – has apparently been using the brutal early-morning routine to improve his work rate, build balance on his weaker left foot, and sharpen his first touch under pressure. “If I can run up a hill carrying a giant stack of bricks, I can bomb up and down the sideline like it’s nothing,” De Giron reportedly told a perplexed physio at the club.
Bystanders say he’s not just running — he’s weaving side to side, calling out imaginary passing lanes, and volleying a practice ball ahead of him as he climbs. “It’s like watching a schizophrenic anime training montage,” one eyewitness said. “He’d shout something in Spanish, whip the ball across the trail to nobody, sprint up and down, then keep going like it was totally normal.”
Seoul Mythic’s coach declined to comment directly, only smirking when asked if the club approved of the workouts. But the results speak for themselves — in the last five matches for the club (MD 10-14), De Giron has not gone a single game with less than a 70% pass accuracy, as well as delivering three 7.2+ ratings. Despite his more modest assist tally this season, he’s been a mainstay in the Seoul starting XI this season and he’s still proving why he’s one of the most important players for the club.
When asked about his training and his future goals, De Girón responded with “Quiero deshacerme de mi pie débil; quiero ser tan bueno con mi pie izquierdo como con mi derecho.” (translation: "I want to eliminate my weak footedness and be just as good with my left as my right.”) – “y quiero también volverme mejor en defensa, en caso el club cambia tácticas y no puedo jugar en frente de tres” (translation: “…and I want to get better in defense, in case the team changes tactics and I can no longer play in front of a back three to cover me.”)
When questioned how his strange personal training can help with these aims, he simply shook his head and said “you’d never understand.”
He has since been reportedly banned from the premises around Namsan tower, as a group of irate locals petitioned the local council to restrict him, as the noise at the dead of night constantly disrupted many a person’s sleep. “I can’t sleep with him yelling and clanking all over the place at the asscrack of dawn,” an old Korean man stated. “I found three soccer balls in my gutter last week and I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in almost a month. He even broke one of my windows! We love him and all he does for the club and city but we’ve had enough.”
