Bounty Hunting

I’ve always thought the concept of Bounties in sim leagues to be funny. Mostly because the word Bounty to me bounces somewhere between toilet paper and professional hitmen, and I think a much funnier way to implement Bounties in the SSL, would be something more on the end of hitmen.

Imagine, if you would, a type of Fantasy game, where a player is chosen every week, and for each time your player takes the ball from that player, they earn a certain amount of cash. Perhaps even, you get to choose the player each week, meaning you need to look through your upcoming schedule, see who you might be paired up against, and choose your target. Sure, this would allow more defensive positions a much better shot at earning cash consistently, but at least the term fits more cohesively into my mental model surrounding the word “Bounty”.

It also harkens back to an old concept in sports where players would exist, and be paid, to go out and rough up or injure opposing stars, and their fines and penalties would be covered by the team. Sure, the Red Card throws things off, but taking out an opposing star player with some random rookie with nothing more than Aggression to their name would be hilarious, and befitting of some Cash I’m sure.

Or we could just write Articles?

I sometimes worry if you are on the brink of acquiring a Noble Peace prize or breaking an inebriated individual's world view. Whatever it is, it is engaging and well-structured. Some more depth or relation to the league as a whole would bring it to the upper grades.
