Come draft my players
#1
I have the honour of being the manager of Port Royal FC. We're 3 points clear at the top of the Academy league with one game to go, with a +10 goal difference differential over Medellin.

Basically, we're counting our chickens pretty hard. This has been a great team of academy talent to manage. So with that, I would like to make my pitch to GMs - come and get my guys. Here's why:

(All stats will be correct as of the end of MD13, all pronouns will be guessed.)

GK - Rean Schwarzer

Twitchy, with the agility to make the most spectacular saves, Schwarzer is an elite goalkeeping prospect. They've conceded the fewest goals in Academy (20) with a joint league leading 3 clean sheets and a league leading 68% save percentage. Great prospect, draft them.

CB - Sky Scraper

Sky Scraper is tall. They're also the star of the stingiest defence in the league, winning 71% of aerial duels, which is 4th best of Academy prospects, and their 8 key tackles are joint most in the league. To be honest, Scraper is Top 10 for most defensive metrics, having won possession back a league leading 192 times. Great prospect, draft them.

LWB - Thomas Schwarte

Schwarte is an artist with the football. From the left wing back position, he has made the most Key Passes in the competition, with 56. He's 5th in xA (expected assists) with 6.07. He's also one of my personal favourite players for reasons I can't fully articulate. Great prospect, draft him.

RWB - Matt Oopsie Wrongsport Turk

In contrast, Turk is probably my least favourite player. His 7 yellow cards lead the league, and... nah, I'm kidding. He has 4 Player of the Match awards, the highest average rating in the Academy with 7.84 and has created the most chances in the league (21). Great prospect, draft him.

DM - Bad Wolf

Wolf has played with us for exactly one game, so I am going to have a bit less to say about them, but they completed 87% of their passes for a 7.3 rating in their only appearance. Great prospect, draft them.

LW - Weston McNuggie

Weston is another one of my favourites. Fast and tricky, his 8 goals this season have been huge for Port Royal. Admittedly, he did that on a league-high 46 shots, but dammit I told him to shoot. Even with all those shots, he's still outperforming his xG by 1.94 goals. Great prospect, draft him.

RW- Jonathan Munoz

Munoz doesn't quite have the stats of his left sided counterpart, but he has got better and better through the course of the season. Though he only has 4 goals and 1 assist, I can personally vouch for the importance of the timings of those goals. He's one of those big moment guys, and he's improving. Great prospect, draft him.

AM - Arsene N'Goussou

N'Goussou is our flair guy who plays in the hole. With a knack for spotting a pass or a shooting opportunity, it's little surprise that he's returned 7 goals and 5 assists this season. He's also been our penalty taker, converting 3 of 3 spot kicks. When Arsene is playing well, Port Royal are playing well. Great prospect, draft him.

ST - Babatunde Agachuthu

The player who has caused me the most spelling issues this year, Baba has led the line for Port Royal. 8 goals is a good return on a team where the players will shoot from literally anywhere, and he keeps the ball superbly, completing 89% of his passes. He's also got a 100% tackles won ratio. Great prospect, draft him.
