As far as I know, the secrets begin today, as the Offline SSL Prospect Draft commences. I have absolutely no idea where Kaspars Kalinins will end up, and that’s very exciting. I don’t think I’ve had a conversation that hasn’t had me excited about landing at that team, which is great, because I don’t have to root for anyone to get me. There’s obviously a decent amount of competitive imbalance, with some of the franchises dominating nearly every game, and some working to scrape a couple wins on the season. One would hope that the non-competitive Majors teams would have competitive Minors teams, as a sign of what is to come, but instead, it seems like good Majors teams just keep backing up talent leaving lots in reserve in the Minors.
I’m certainly happy with either kind of situation, because in the end, a game is a game. As long as I get to go out there and perform, and support my team, I’ve done my job. But if I can get the chance to help lift a team from the bottom, or cement a dynasty at the top, that’s surely some icing on the cake. Thankfully that leaves me with a lot of options at this point, at least before whatever expansions are coming. All that I’ve got is excitement!
