After the SSL Draft that took place mere hours ago it was confirmed that AC Romana chose Atletico Medellin's Right Wingback Caroni Riveras as their first pick (11th Overall) putting a lot of trust in the Venezuelan prospect to deliver in the next upcoming season.
Parting with a club often hurts, and for Riveras that wasn't an exception, before joining the SSL league he was just hoping to keep afloat the family fishing business at Venezuela, but after a spell in the SSL system he finds himself walking a very different path, one that lead him to neighboring country Colombia to don Atletico Medellin's shirt for his Academy stint and now its making flight over to Europe, where AC Romana facilities are.
Fellow Medellin player Tommaso Cappellari will join Riveras on this new journey over at AC Romana after being drafted as the 30th overall pick, alongside them the Italian side also chose Nepa Paya (Adowa Accra) and Volkan Kiziltas (Stockholm IK)
Although an initial meeting with the staff and a visit to Inter London's facilities (Romana's associate team in the Minor League) was scheduled in the next couple of days for all of the new players it seems that Riveras was told to not attend said visit and to wait for further instructions at home. Sources close to the Venezuelan have remained quiet over this but there has been footage that has surfaced on social media of him training to play on the left side of the field instead of on the right, maybe there is a change of position on the horizon? Only time will tell.
