I am a bit late writing this article, but I wanted to get it out there.
Chicken McTendie was surprisingly selected to the US roster for the WSFC. I had assumed that the CD position was locked down with players like Greedy McFootcakes and Charlie Chambers clearly ahead of McTendie on the US depth chart. So it was a shock when I was notified that I'd be not only playing for USA, but part of the starting 11.
My initial reaction was surprise and wondering what the heck the plan was, but I was informed that I would not be playing my normal position of CD, but instead I would be in the midfield playing CDM alongside one of the US managers BigMac Johnson. It is exciting to be selected to represent my home country, and even more so to have a chance to play with some new faces and the idea of the "Meal deal" in the middle of the field with BigMac and McTendie locking it down.
With any luck US will have a solid run. I think we have a really good defense and midfield, and even if teams get past us William Williams in net is a challenge in his own right.
Kronkowski and Martell in the front will have to put some goals in the net to get us the W's we need, and I think they can do enough to make us a team to be feared.
