A Not So Merry Holiday For North Shore
#1
The holidays are upon us. Even still, we have a final run of the season left ahead of our simulation soccer leagues. As we head to the cheeriest time of the year, there are a few teams still in search of some holiday spirit to lift their moods.

As North Shore heads into the final stretch, they continue to find themselves in the bottom third of the Minors table. With only 6 wins in 20 contests, only Cairo and Athenai are having a more difficult season in the minors this year. With two more match days out ahead, North Shore will have one more contest against Cairo to look to stay ahead of the few teams at the bottom before they round out the end of the season against a Magyar club that blanked them two goals to zero in their first contest in week 11. The final competition of the season could serve to be the difference in a bottom three finish for North Shore and a middling but fine finish.

Back to back wins against Cairo and Magyar would push North Shore into the standings with the likes of Montreal and Krung Thep, who despite their own woes at times this season, would still be proud of what they've accomplished to this point.

It has been an up and down season for United and not likely one they will be quick to remember. Over the last 10 matches, North Shore have not found themselves in the victory column even once. A smattering of losses with a handful of draws mixed in simply will not get it done when it comes to competing at any level.

As the teams all prepare for a well deserved holiday break, the North Shore leadership group is certainly hoping that the next few matches can be a springboard into the festivities with a few victories and increase morale for a roster that could use a break. It's been a long and grueling season nonetheless and the whole roster will take a well deserved break before we move on to the post-season.

I appreciated the article referencing recent form, past matches against upcoming opposition, and the "springboard into the festivities" line. I was between a 3 and a 4, and I almost always go with the higher number when grading.

4/5
