2 matches, Masques provide 2 differing performances
#1
2 matches into the new season and Masques Sacrés will have to work out on how to become more consistent against the top teams in the division.

In their first match they played solid football and reaped the reward of some great build up play to come away eventual 3-1 winners again Krung Thep F.C. Goals came in the shape of Walker, Cat and Lam, the attacking trio up top. Anticipation will have been sky high after this performance with the new partnership up top clicking right away and with Lam looking to finally prove his ability to put the ball into the back of the net. Lam also managed to get an assist on the day proving a danger all day in attack and rightly deserving the MOTD award.

Sadly though, Masques could not follow up this result and lost 4-2 to the current league leaders, F.C. Kaapstad. A miserable first half performance causing them to concede 3 goals was their undoing, leaving them with too much to do to pull the result around in the 2nd half. While the first half was all Kaapstad, Masques more than matched and if anything, bettered them in the 2nd half but the final score is all that matters. Managing to get 1.71xg against the league leaders is by no means a bad day at the office (AS Paris the current champions managed 1.78xg against them last week), but allowing Kaapstad 2.97xg in return is a worrying sign. Is this going to be chalked as a bad day at the office or is this a trend that will continue against Montreal?

Strong performances at the start of the season from Grimace (2 assists, 7.55 avg), L. Walker (2 goals, 7.3 avg) and their keeper Rivest (7.4 avg) will give them something to grab onto and bring into the next match where a win will have them at the business end of the table once again. While it is still early doors, in the new season where 10 matches IS the season, every dropped point and bad performance could spell disaster.
